The Eben Hawley House 1765

This house was built in 1765 in Trumbull, Connecticut and has served many purposes over its 2 1/2 century life -- tavern, town hall, birthplace to a famous scientist, lodge for revolutinary war soldiers, and, of course, home to Conecticut families.  Moved to Darien in 1961, it has been renovated and expanded with an eye towards preserving its original charm while modernizing for the 21st century.

The New General Store at Ring's End Landing
1797

This circa 1797 home was Darien's general store at Ring's End landing, located at the harbor and center of commerce during the early 19th century.   After hurricane Sandy, this home was completely redone by Chris Pagliaro of Pagliaro, Bartels, Sajda Architects and S&W Builders.  Winner of the Home Building Industry Award's 2015 Project of the Year and Best New/Old Remodel, this historic home is beautiful inside and out.

The House on the Hill
1850

This home was originally a hunting lodge, built in 1850.  It sat on a 96 parcel of land known as Althea Farm, which was a dairy farm.  Over time, this hunting lodge has been expanded into a summer retreat and now, a beautiful home complete with pool built by Cutting Edge Pools, pool house designed by Robert A. Cardello Architects, and landscape designed by Carol Guthrie.  With its many changes, this English country house, built of fieldstone and wood, still retains the beautiful character of 1850.
