Award-Winning Modern Makeover
This modern home designed by Amanda Martocchio Architecture of New Canaan has been awarded two awards by Cottages & Gardens – one for design and one for architecture. The century-old home on the waters of Darien underwent a complete transformation from dated, yet with fabulous views, to contemporary, open and fresh, with no-fuss maintenance and an efficient floor plan.

Mediterranean Masterpiece
This spectacular waterfront mediterranean villa was designed circa-1925 by the same architect who designed the Wee Burn clubhouse. It was recently renovated and expanded, becoming an eclectic masterpiece reflecting masterful design by Paulo Vicente of Vicente-Burin Architects and Cindy Rinfret of Rinfret LTC interior design, plus the owners' personal style and love for entertaining friends. This home is chic, fun and playful inside and out.

Elegant and Fresh New Colonial
This brand new construction was designed by Lance Zimmerman of Zimmerman Architecture and decorated by Julie Nightingale of Nightingale Design. The result is a home that is perfect for this family of four which includes two young girls and a dog. The traditional, yet transitional, colonial combines great design with beautiful craftsmanship. Four Seasons of Fun!
This fabulous 2007 family home was recently transformed into a dream sports complex for all seasons for this athletic family of five by architect Louise Brooks of Brooks & Falotico, interior designer Tori Legge of Sirling Mills Interior Design, and Fox Hill Builders. The fabulous addition is designed for fun with pool table, ping pong table and golf simulator, not to mention a sports locker room, overlooking a back yard with hockey rink, sports court and brand new pool house. Plus, fabulous artwork from Heather Gaudio Fine Art and more. You've got to see it to believe it!
The Mather Homestead
The Darien House Tour: Homes with Heart is
excited to feature the Mather Homestead, built in 1778 by Deacon Joseph Mather of The First Congregational Church of Darien and owned by the Mather family through seven generations. The home was generously donated by the family to the Mather Homestead Foundation in May, 2017. The Foundation will preserve the historic home as a museum for community education and enjoyment. Did you know that Stephen Mather was the founder of our modern day National Parks System? He and the Mather generations that followed were dedicated to environmental preservation and the public enjoyment of our nation's treasures.
